In the Music Resource Guide, pages 127-128, Listening Guide 12 for the song “Chester” should be adjusted to indicate that verses 2 and 3 are omitted from the recording, and the timing of verses 4 and 5 given in the first column of the table should be adjusted as a result. In the Science Resource Guide, page 9, at the start of the 9th line from the top of column 1, the words “and constant pressure” should be deleted.
 In the Science Resource Guide, page 23, column 2, the last sentence of the 2nd complete paragraph should read: “Figure 29 shows how one s and one p type orbital can hybridize; consequently, hybridization of one s and three p orbitals yields four equivalent sp3 orbitals.
In the Science Resource Guide, page 33, in the second to last line from the bottom of the page should read: “hydrogen could be used as a lifting agent for balloon flight.”
In the Science Resource Guide, page 34, in the 1st line of the 2nd complete paragraph, “hot air balloon” should read: “hydrogen balloon.”
In the Science Resource Guide, page 66, column 2, paragraph 2, line 1 should read: “An example of a nonspontaneous reaction is Li+ + Fe2+ → Li + Fe3+.”
In the Science Resource Guide, page 70, column 2, in the 5th line of the 1st complete paragraph, the word “oxygen” should be replaced with O2.
In the Science Resource Guide, page 78, column 1, 4th bullet, “replacements” should read “replacement.”
In the Science Resource Guide, page 83, the definition for the term “compound” should read “a group of atoms from at least two different elements chemically combined in a fixed ratio.”

In the Science Resource Guide, page 75, paragraph 2, line 12, a set of parentheses should be inserted in the equation, so it reads: “(40 - 33) x 21 = 147”. The revised pages are here.
Please be aware that there will not be any competition test items on Figure 37 (page 27 of the Science Resource Guide) or the Lewis structure of SO3, as sulfur violates the octet rule in some compounds.

In the Social Science Resource Guide, page 38, column 1, paragraph 2, line 2, the estimated population of enslaved persons within the thirteen colonies should be corrected to read 500,000.
In the Social Science Resource Guide, page 51, column 2, 3rd complete paragraph, line 1 should read “delegates from five states.” This same correction should be made in the timeline on page 84, 4th entry from the bottom of the page, for September 1786.
In the Social Science Resource Guide, page 61, column 1, in the 4th sentence of the 2nd complete paragraph, the number of tie-breaking votes Adams cast should be twenty-nine.
In the Social Science Resource Guide, page 87, the date for the 6th entry from the top of the page should be October-December 1800. The revised pages are here.
