Alaska Decathlon Coach Honored as Alaska Teacher of the Year

On November 4, 2012, the Alaska State Commissioner of Education, Mike Hanley, announced the Alaska Teacher of the Year at the Association for Alaska's School Boards. Lathrop High School Math Teacher and Academic Decathlon^® Coach Chris Benshoof was awarded the most prestigious honor as the Alaska 2013 Teacher of the Year. Chris will represent all of Alaska's teachers when he goes to Washington DC to compete for the National Teacher of the Year. He will be asked to speak at various education conferences and meetings across Alaska. Please join in congratulating Chris! This is a huge accomplishment!
